SculpSure v/s Coolsculpting: What’s the Difference?

If you’re one of the millions of men and women who have stubborn areas of fat that just won’t respond to diet and exercise, you’re probably wondering what options are available to get rid of that fatty tissue so you can feel and look your best. While liposuction used to be the only alternative for getting rid of resistant fat, today there are noninvasive procedures that can break down fat beneath the skin without the need for surgery or incisions. Once the cells are broken down, the debris is removed over a period of weeks by the body’s natural waste disposal system.

Currently, there are two primary noninvasive methods of removing fat – CoolSculpting® and SculpSure®. Both methods are approved by the FDA and both can help rid the body of fat, but they use very different methods to achieve their results. If you’ve been researching your options, you’re probably wondering which one is a better choice for you. Here’s what you should know:

CoolSculpting® vs. SculpSure®

CoolSculpting® derives its name for the fat freezing approach it uses to rid the body of excess fatty tissue. During CoolSculpting® treatment, a handheld device is applied to the skin surface and cooling energy is transmitted through the skin to the areas of stubborn fat. Energy is delivered in measured bursts, causing sensations of cold in the treatment zone and surrounding tissues. Fat freezing causes cell walls to become brittle, breaking them apart so the cells and their contents can be removed via the body’s waste disposal system. Each CoolSculpting® treatment takes about an hour, and most people find they need a series of up to four fat freezing treatments to achieve maximum results. Only one area is treated per treatment session, so if you’re interested in having multiple areas treated, you may require a series of up to four treatments per area.

SculpSure® uses a special laser to deliver targeted heat energy directly to fat cells, breaking down cell walls and liquefying fat so it can be removed by the body. The SculpSure® laser energy is highly focused for very precise results, and multiple attachments are available to provide custom treatments tailored specifically for each patient’s needs and treatment objectives. Unlike CoolSculpting®, SculpSure® allows multiple areas to be treated in a single session, and individual treatments take about a half hour – about half of the time required by a single CoolSculpting® session. Plus, SculpSure® results can be achieved in a single visit rather than a series of four.

And there’s one more benefit of SculpSure® treatment compared to fat freezing: The heat provided by the laser stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, building blocks of healthy skin, so skin appears and feels firmer and more resilient following treatment.

CoolSculpting is extremely painful, takes over an hour for the procedure itself, needs intense massaging for over 2 hours in the area treated so that it does not form a mass, and the next several days are very very painful too, compared to Sculpsure, one treatment could be double the area what coolsculpting can treat, less than half the time, less than half the price, no pain except moderate warm feel, no massage needed, absolutely no downtime, it’s a comfortable lunch time procedure and one could return to work after the procedure.
