Ideal Protein Case Study: "I feel more energetic and I want to exercise"

Stan is the co-founder and co-owner of Halo Laser & Aesthetic Medicine. In 2016, Stan's primary care doctor told him he was pre-diabetic. His hemoglobin A1C sugar level was 7.8 percent, which is higher than it should be. Normal ranges for adults who are not diabetic between 4 percent and 5.9 percent. Anything about 7 percent is considered to be in the diabetic range.   

Stan and his doctor decided it was time to go on a weight loss program, one specifically designed to reduce blood sugar levels.

What is Ideal Protein Weight Loss?

The Ideal Protein Protocol is a four-phase program that combines weight loss with healthier eating and lifestyle habits. It has been medically developed and is based on validated scientific principles for safe weight loss. Individuals who are on the program work with healthcare practitioners, such as Dr. B, in thousands of clinics across North America and in more than 15 countries.

The first phase of the program focuses on the actual weight loss. The other three phases are all about helping you maintain your ideal weight through smarter diet and lifestyle choices. 

During the first phase of the program, you strictly limit carbohydrate and sugar intake. This encourages the body to turn to fat and muscle for energy. Your diet consists of three Ideal Protein foods per day, plus a lot of vegetables. This is not a high-protein diet, but rather one that offers a variety of protein-based foods that are easily assimilated.

For Stan, the weight loss phase lasted for about 60 days and meant giving up all fruit. After Phase 1, he was able to re-introduce brown bread and brown rice, but fruit was still off limits. 

Stan says the program absolutely helps with your lifestyle mindset. "When I go out for meetings now, I eat salads," he says. "It trains you to change your lifestyle completely. But I don't mind. It's worth it."

How Ideal Protein Worked for Stan

Stan had amazing results: He lost 18 pounds in 2 months. And this was extra weight that he'd been carrying for more than 20 years. Despite the fact that he exercised regularly and didn't consume alcohol, he had never been able to shed those extra pounds until he went onto Ideal Protein.

Even more impressive: It has been nearly a year, and Stan has been able to maintain his weight and keep off those 18 pounds. Not to mention, his A1C sugar level is now 5.9 percent.

In addition, Stan says he simply feels better. "I used to feel sleepy all the time. Now, I don't have that," he says. "I used to wake up in the night and not be able to fall back to sleep. Now, my sleep has improved. I'm feeling more energetic and I want to exercise."

Although his experience was remarkable, he's not the only one. Stan also mentions a Halo client who was on insulin for years. She went through the Ideal Protein program with another doctor, and she had such dramatic results that she no longer has to take insulin.
